A typical day at Notten’s Bush Camp
Wake to the soft sounds of the African bush stirring to life. An early morning wake-up call is followed by freshly brewed coffee and light snacks served on the open deck, as the first blush of dawn colours the horizon.
Then it’s time to venture out on your morning game drive into the legendary Sabi Sand Private Reserve - one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife sanctuaries. With luck, you might track a pride of lions, a solitary leopard on the hunt, or herds of elephants moving through the misty morning grasslands.
Return to camp for a hearty, made-to-order breakfast, enjoyed in the open-air dining area as the day warms and the bush hums with life.
Spend your free time at leisure, relaxing on your private deck, indulging in a spa treatment, or perhaps joining an expert ranger for a guided bush walk, where you’ll learn about the smaller wonders of the wild - from animal tracks to medicinal plants and the calls of native birds.
A delicious lunch is served before the heat of the afternoon settles in, followed by afternoon tea with fresh bakes and refreshments.
As the sun begins its descent, set off on your afternoon game drive, a golden hour adventure when wildlife stirs again. Pause for sundowners in the bush, raising a glass to another spectacular African sunset as the sky blazes in shades of orange and crimson.
Return to camp under a blanket of stars for a memorable dinner, shared around the boma fire or in the open dining area , with the distant calls of nocturnal creatures providing a natural soundtrack to the evening.

ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS
6 April - (D) Arrive in Cape Town
Touch down in Cape Town, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by the local team. From there, head straight to the Taj Cape Town — a boutique hotel steeped in history, occupying the city’s original Reserve Bank building. Keep an eye out for some of the original architectural details cleverly woven into its elegant design. Nestled within walking distance of Greenmarket Square, Company’s Garden, and St George’s Mall, the Taj offers old-world elegance and contemporary style — the perfect base for the start of your golf journey in South Africa.
Meet and mingle with your below travellers at tonight’s welcome drinks and canapes.
Overnight Taj Cape Town - Luxury Heritage King Room
7 April - (B) Ernie Els Winery and Golf at de Zalze GC
Enjoy a relaxed start to the day with a wine tasting at the Ernie Els Winery in Stellenbosch. With a little liquid courage in hand, it’s off to De Zalze Golf Club, ranked #31 by SA’s Top 100 Courses.
Set against a backdrop of mountains and vineyards, De Zalze delivers one of the Cape Winelands’ most scenic rounds. The Peter Matkovich layout combines generous fairways with well-placed water hazards, undulating greens, and memorable risk-reward holes. The Blaauwklippen River meanders through the estate, adding natural beauty and challenge on several holes.
Dinner options at the hotel include the elegant Bombay Brasserie for fine Indian cuisine, or the more relaxed Mint Restaurant & Terrace. If you’d prefer to explore, the concierge can easily arrange a car for transfers to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, where you’ll find a wide choice of excellent restaurants overlooking the harbour. We’ll also share our guide to favourite and newly opened restaurants around Cape Town.
Dinner at own expense.
Overnight Taj Cape Town - Luxury Heritage King Room
8 April - (B) Golf at Pearl Valley GC ranked #4 and a visit to Franschhoek
An early start today with tee times from 8am at Pearl Valley, within the Val de Vie Estate. This is luxury golf in a spectacular setting. Home to a Jack Nicklaus Signature course, it’s ranked the best of his South African designs — and with good reason. Immaculate fairways of cool-season grass, smooth bent grass greens, and clever use of water and sand hazards create a course that’s as beautiful as it is rewarding to play. Natural grasses add texture and contrast to the layout, while the mountain views make every round unforgettable.
The bonus of the early tee time is that it affords the opportunity to visit the picturesque enclave of Franschhoek, the celebrated as the culinary epicentre of the nation and is a must-visit destination for epicurean delights. Depending on the mood and timing, we may stop at a winery en route for a tasting, before heading to Franschhoek for some shopping and an early dinner.
Dinner at own expense.

9 April - (B) Cape Town Tour
Today, weather permitting, you’ll ascend Cape Town’s iconic Table Mountain by revolving cable car, enjoying panoramic views of the city, coastline, and mountains in every direction. At the summit, there’s time to explore, snap photos, visit the telescopes, or simply soak up the beauty of the Mother City over a coffee.
Afterwards, enjoy a guided highlights tour of Cape Town, including visits to the historic District Six area, the moving Slave Lodge Museum, the peaceful Company’s Garden, and the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
We’ll enjoy an early dinner at the Waterfront before heading back to the hotel for an early night - tomorrow is a travel day.

10 April - (B,L,D) Hello Fancourt! Golf at Montagu
An early start this morning as we fly to George at 7:00 AM, with tee times from 11:20 AM at South Africa’s #11-ranked course, Montagu.
The Montagu Course at Fancourt is a visual treat from the opening tee to the final green, with broad fairways framed by manicured gardens, mature trees, and the majestic Outeniqua Mountains. Originally a Gary Player design, the course was reimagined by David McLay Kidd in 2004 and further refined by Player in 2018 to improve playability while preserving its traditional parkland charm.
Known for superb conditioning and fast, true greens, Montagu is a rewarding challenge. The front nine stands out, with a river weaving through several holes — especially the sixth and seventh, two of Fancourt’s finest par 4s.
After golf, check in at the Fancourt Hotel, South Africa’s premier golf resort.
Meet for dinner at La Cantina. Drinks at own expense.
Overnight Fancourt Hotel - Luxury Room
11 April - (B,L,D) Golf at Outeniqua, ranked #23
The Outeniqua Course at Fancourt offers a scenic and rewarding round from start to finish. It begins just below Monet’s restaurant terrace with a gentle par 4 that hints at the variety to come. Water hazards feature on 11 holes, complemented by clever bunkering that keeps things interesting from tee to green.
Unlike the Montagu, Outeniqua follows an out-and-back layout through Fancourt’s picturesque residential estate, with a dedicated halfway house at the turn. The terrain is varied and engaging, with notable elevation changes, particularly along the tree-lined edges of the property.
This evening, meet at Henry White’s for dinner. Drinks at own expense.
Overnight Fancourt Hotel - Luxury Room
12 April - (B,L) Golf at Pinnacle Point - Ranked #10
We leave for Mossel Bay after breakfast.
Before golf we’ll visit the Point of Human Origin Caves nestled somewhat incongruously beneath the Pinnacle Point clifftop. A series of wooden steps and walkways take you into some of the caves below the clifftop where you get a practical glimpse into our own origins. Flint artefacts can still be found, and the lives of those who made them over 160,000 years ago will be described by your knowledgeable guide.
You’ll need a coffee after climibing the 200 steps to the cave and back!
Pinnacle Point is one of a rare group of golf courses in the world built on high cliffs overlooking the ocean. It’s a spectacular experience and ranks with the likes of Pebble Beach in California, Old Head in Ireland, Kauri Cliffs in New Zealand and Playa Grande in the Dominican Republic. It has twice been named Africa’s Best Golf Course and South Africa’s Best Golf Course, in 2022 and 2020, at the World Golf Awards. Several of the holes at Pinnacle Point are amazing in terms of wow factor, and even when you’re playing inland you still enjoy wonderful views of the Indian Ocean. Risk-reward holes are a feature of Pinnacle Point.
Dinner at a restaurant of your choosing at Fancourt. (For own account).
