Greece 2026 Itinerary

Day 1:  16 September 2026 (D) - Welcome to Athens!

Check in to the fabulous 5-star MGallery Athens Capital Hotel, a haven of peace perfectly located just off Syntagma Square and a short walk from the chic boutiques of Kolonaki.

Its refined elegance, collection of contemporary artworks by Greek artists, quotations by notable women including Simone de Beauvoir and Coco Chanel, and finely tuned accommodations sculpt a unique bond among visitors and this timeless city. Art, an intrinsic part of the hotel, is most evident in the impressive installation “Mappemonde” designed by notable Greek sculptor Georgios Lappas for the 1988 Venice Biennale. It begins on the hotel’s tenth floor and cascades through all the floors within the hotel’s atrium, intricately tracing the sculptor’s travels around the world. .

The rooftop boasts an infinity pool, the Mappemonde bar and restaurant, and memorable views of the city. The fitness centre contains cardio and strength-training equipment, as well as interactive technology that can provide custom training routines. The 26 sq.m Superior rooms are characterised by sleek, contemporary furnishings, a soft colour palette, and dark marble bathrooms.

Tonight you’ll join your host, Dina Taylor and meet your fellow travellers over an apéritif and traditional Greek dinner at a Welcome Reception with views of the Acropolis.

Day 2:  17 September 2026 (B) - Acropolis, Parthenon & Acropolis Museum Guided Tour

We’ll immerse ourselves in the glories of Greece’s ancient past with a tour led by a certified guide. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Acropolis is considered to be “the greatest architectural and artistic complex bequeathed by Greek Antiquity to the world”. On our tour we’ll discover the Acropolis’ most significant temples and monuments, such as the Parthenon and the temple of Athena Nike, and learn about the Golden Age of Pericles and the birth of concepts such as Democracy, Philosophy, and Freedom of Expression and Speech.

Our guide will also lead us through the fabulous Acropolis Museum. Ranked 3rd among the top museums in the world by Time Out, and consistently ranked among the top by TripAdvisor, the Acropolis Museum has received numerous awards and accolades, recognizing its architecture, exhibits, and contributions to cultural understanding.

Afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 3:  18 September 2026 (B) - Day at Leisure

Today is yours to enjoy according to your interests. You could:

  • Join your host and explore the streets of Athens. Just outside the hotel, every hour, the Evzones (Greek Presidential Guard) perform a ceremonial change of guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We’ll wander through Syntagma Square to the picturesque, cobbled streets of Plaka and Monastiraki, the oldest areas of Athens. In amongst colourful neoclassical buildings and souvenir shops are historic sites such as Hadrian's Library, the Roman Agora and Byzantine churches, museums such as the Greek Folk Art Museum and Jewish Museum, as well as eclectic artisanal stores that sell hand-made jewellery, antiques, hand painted icons and works of art.

  • Sign up for a day tour to the Oracle of Delphi, or Cape Sounion, or to the nearby islands of Aegina or Hydra.

  • Art and culture lovers should consider visiting:

  • The Benaki Museum of Greek Culture, for its collections of Byzantine art, Islamic art, traditional Greek costumes, and the works of the Greek painter and sculptor, Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika

  • The Goulandris Museum of Modern Art, which houses a superlative collection of both international (e.g. Degas, Bonnard, Cézanne, Picasso, Ernst, Bacon and Pollock) and Greek artists (e.g. Parthenis, Vasileiou, Hadjikyriakos-Ghika, Tsarouchis, Moralis, and Tetsis)

  • Athens’ latest museum, dedicated to opera star Maria Callas, which was recently honoured with a special commendation at the prestigious European Museum of the Year Awards (EMYA) 2025

Evening at leisure.

Day 4:  19 September 2026 (B) - Mycenae and Costa Navarino

We check out of our hotel after breakfast and transfer to Mycenae, one of the greatest cities of the Mycenaean civilization, which dominated the eastern Mediterranean from the 15th to the 12th century B.C. and played a vital role in the development of classical Greek culture. A private guided tour will enhance our experience and bring to life the kingdom of Agamemnon, who led the Greeks against Troy.

Next, we proceed to Costa Navarino to check into the exquisite 5-Star W Costa Navarino. Prepare to be captivated by the stunning sea vistas, the distinctive angular stone architecture, the extensive use of local, natural materials, and the eco-conscious, effortlessly stylish design.

For dining, the W boasts two restaurants - the W Lounge, where we will enjoy our meal tonight, and Parelia by the beach. Additional dining options include a variety of restaurants at Dunes Agora, accessible by shuttle, or Navarino Agora, just a short walk from the W.

Day 5:  20 September 2026 (B, D) - The International Olympic Academy Course

Enjoy your first round of golf today! You’ll tee off at the International Olympic Academy Golf Course, perched high on the clifftop plateau. The front nine holes share a kinship with The Hills Course, albeit with a touch less ruggedness and more large plantings of vibrant flowering grass gardens lining the pathways. As the course loops back towards the sea, the fairways narrow, and the holes stretch longer and are more demanding. The gardens with their mass plantings set the course apart from the other Navarino courses. Our 2023 tour participants voted this course with its combination of ruggedness, sea views and manicured gardens their favourite.

Dinner tonight will be at Parelia.

Day 6:  21 September 2026 (B, D) - The Bay Course

Round 2 is at the Bay Course. Set against the backdrop of olive groves and commanding views of the Bay of Navarino, this par-70 course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, artfully winds its way through three distinct terrains – the coastline, canyons, and olive groves – offering a visual feast of contrasts. Four holes had seaside greens framed by a scenic backdrop of the tranquil waters of the bay. As you move inland into the canyons, the scenery transforms, and elevated greens come into play. Next are the grove holes, graced by over a thousand mature olive trees, some dating back more than five centuries. These holes offer distinctive mountain views, a stark contrast to the coastal and canyon sections.

A visit to the Bay Course Clubhouse, Winner of the World’s Best Golf Clubhouse 2024 at the World Golf Awards is a must-do!

Dinner tonight is at Nargile, where we’ll experience fine Lebanese cuisine.

Day 7:  22 September 2026 (B, D) - The Dunes Course

Today we play the impressive seaside Dunes Course, Greece's first signature golf course, designed by Bernhard Langer, two-time US Masters Champion and former Ryder Cup Captain. The Par-71 offers an wonderful backdrop of both sea and river views, accompanied by the gentle presence of the Sellas River meandering along a few of the holes. Much of the course's layout pays homage to the rugged contours of the distant mountains. As you venture further inland, it feels as if you’re teeing off in Navarino's very own food basket, with fragrant rosemary, thyme, and fennel lining the paths. The course continues to surprise and delight as you journey through olive groves and orchards, where citrus, fig, quince, pomegranate trees, and grapevines thrive in abundance. The fairways, lush and verdant, beckon, while the rough is almost as pristine as the fairways. Playing The Dunes is nothing short of a joyous experience. Its expansive fairways, undulating greens, and the strategic placement of steep-faced pot bunkers add to its unique style and playability.

Dinner tonight will be at Kooc, where fusion meets traditional homemade Messinian dishes.

Day 8:  23 September 2026 (B, D) - Day at Leisure

Spend the day unwinding at one of the many swimming pools, or on the beach at Costa Navarino.

Alternatively, guests are invited to connect with unspoiled nature and a unique cultural heritage, become acquainted with local traditions and experience the warmth and hospitality of the Messinia region through an endless array of optional activities, such as cooking classes, Astronomy nights, Philosophy walks, olive-tasting, birdwatching, etc.

If sports are more your thing, Costa Navarino boasts not only four renowned golf courses but also 12 tennis courts, a fitness centre, a plethora of waterside activities, and hiking, rock climbing, and biking opportunities.

We’ll meet up for dinner at da Luigi’s tonight.

Day 9:  24 September 2026 (B, D) - The Hills Course

Today we’ll be back to play in Navarino Hills. The par 72 Hills Course climbs upwards away from the sea, is rocky, rugged and untamed with large elevation changes and a good mix of lengthy challenging holes, and exhilarating short holes. Routed through an ancient forest, you’ll need all your focus to stay on the fairways. The garden plantings of the flowering grasses in large swathes along some of the paths is a feast for the eyes and beautifully softens the ruggedness of the course which is set high above the coastline offering panoramic Ionian Sea views.

Dinner tonight is at the Dunes Clubhouse.

Day 10:  25 September 2026 (B, D) - The International Olympic Academy Course

Today is our last day and last round of golf at Costa Navarino. We’ll be re-playing the fabled International Olympic Academy Course.

For our last evening at Costa Navarino, we’ll be returning to the lovely Parelia Restaurant to celebrate our golfing winners and the end of our glorious Greek voyage.

Day 11:  26 September 2026 (B) - “Andío” (“Adieu” / Farewell) to Greece!

Today we bid “Andío” and “Kalo taxidi” (Farewell and bon voyage) to new friends.

Airport transfers to Kalamata or Athens can be arranged.
