This Simon Deep intensive three day golf school was aimed at women golfers with a GA handicap of 14 or lower.

Simon is the short game coach and a consultant to Golf NSW men's and women's teams. He is currently working with three of the top 65 men amateur golfers in the world, three Australasian tour players and a handful of local club champions.

He has a keen interest in the bio-mechanics of the golf swing and has developed swing modifications and exercises to allow golfers more freedom of movement, and ways to prevent swing related injuries.

The school started at Cypress Lakes Resort. Simon spent some time with the group to establish what each player aimed to achieve over the three days. Individual objectives and targets were set, before the group headed to the putting green to sharpen their putting techniques. The session ended with an exercise in putting under pressure, with lunch as the reward. Lunch was a little delayed, but those putts were eventually sunk!

It was an intensive day: lunch was followed by a range session, a playing lesson at Cypress Lakes, and  later, a dissection of the day's learning. After settling into accommodation at Chateau Elan, the group relaxed over a delicious dinner at Legends Grill.

Day 2 was an immersive shot game day which started with warm-up exercises, followed by bunkers, chipping, high and low shots, lob shots and spinning shots.  A light lunch at Legends Cafe prepared the group for 18 holes with a focus on course management..

Following breakfast on Day 3, the group headed to the range for video swing analysis. A faults and fixes session was up next.  Also covered were trouble-shooting including hitting shots from difficult lies and shaping ball flight.

“It was the best thing I have done for my golf ever. Simon was a fabulous instructor and I learnt more than I could have imagined. I tell everyone how fabulous it was and anyone who has the opportunity to do a future golf school with Simon should grab that opportunity with both hands.”
