Bordeaux, the very essence of elegance, isn’t just a city with the same name as the famous French. wine. With 350 historical buildings and monuments, dozens of museums and art galleries, and some of the best food in all of France, its no wonder even the Parisians are leaving Paris for Bordeaux.

The morning is free to discover all that Bordeaux has to offer. Visit La Cite du Vin, the worlds first wine museum, an interactive wine experience not to be missed whether you're a casual wine drinker or a wine aficionado. Every visit ends with a wine tasting on the top floor's panoramic wine bar.
Wander along the world's longest pedestrian shopping street or just soak up Bordeaux before we depart for the Dordogne.

Dating back to the 16th Century and set amidst the vines, Chateau des Vigiers is affectionately known as Petit Versailles with its intricately carved fireplaces, imposing staircases, authentic period furniture and hand woven tapestries.

One of the most renowned and visited towns in France, Sarlat’s old town dates from both medieval and renaissance times. Sarlat is a gastronomic centre and Wednesday is market day so this is the perfect opportunity to stock up on the local specialities of foie gras and truffles.
Make sure you allow plenty of time to wander the pedestrianised Rue de la Republique which runs the length of the old town with mazes and narrow streets either side. Check out the Rue des Consuls which contains a number of impressive mansions.
After lunch we will return to our hotel via La Roque-Gageac, a picture postcard village on the north bank of the Dordogne River.
